This is just about the easiest way to make ham a lot less ordinary! Toss out the gross packet that comes with the ham and try this. It is from The Barefoot Contessa Cookbook. The first time I used it was back in 2010. The recipe makes a lot so I’ll be sharing other ways to use it up next week.
I didn’t have orange zest on hand today but I will add that after running to the store later this week. It feels great to have this part of the food prep finished. It is really important to try and spread out the prep work as much as possible to eliminate stress as the day arrives. This is going to stay fresh in the fridge for at least a week.
Let me know if you try it and share a pic of your final ham.
1/2 c Dijon mustard
1/4 c orange juice (fresh or store bought)
Zest of one orange
1 c brown sugar
1 jar Major Grey’s chutney
5-6 chopped garlic cloves
The chutney can be hard to find in the grocery store. Check the international isle near English foods.
